The number of new coronavirus infections in Germany has broken through the threshold of 30,000 for the first time, according to the Robert Koch Institute. For technical reasons, about 3,500 cases too few were initially transmitted from Baden-Württemberg, the RKI announced on its website on Thursday. These would add mathematically to the 26,923 confirmed new infections reported in the morning.
In view of the further rising numbers, the federal government is making speed with the vaccination. According to Health Minister Jens Spahn, it will begin immediately after Christmas. For Friday the Minister announced the presentation of a vaccination regulation. The Standing Commission on Vaccination (Stiko) presented its recommendations on Thursday.
